Orono Middle and High School Library values information. We are using a blog as a way to provide students, staff and interested parties with access to all that the library can offer: links to our library and others, access to subscription databases (statewide and local), and links to local media. Specific articles may be “shared” through current technologies.

As the page develops, we will continue to add new features and improve or delete others.

The 2009-2010 school year has been exciting for the library as we grow into our new space.  While we no longer share space with the Orono Public Library, we find that certain areas of the library have taken on new roles.  Orchestra now meets in the former library computer room.  The basement now houses costumes and props for theatre productions.  The storage area that once housed AV collections, files and equipment is the new MLTI room.

Our favorite addition has been the small “BlackStage” which occupies one end of the former children’s room. We have a new flexibility in scheduling.  Whether lectures from University Graduate Students about their research, a Shakespeare or Drama class meeting “on stage,” a chorus rehearsal, or an impromptu “dueling cellos;” space is available. An addition of a screen and digital projector provides opportunities for group presentations.
